Maine map, cut to the state line
Maine people talk about "camp," and they mean a specific cove on a specific lake. A laser cut Maine map with a heart on camp, or on a midcoast harbor town, is about as personal as a map gets.

What sells in Maine
Camp. Maine has a deep culture of summer camps on lakes and ponds, and families keep the same one for generations. Those buyers want the cove, the point and the road in. Zoom tight. A lake depth map adds a lot where the Studio has survey data.
The coast is the other half. Maine's shoreline is rock, coves and islands, and that shape is a gift for a laser. Bar Harbor and Acadia sell to visitors. Camden, Boothbay, Kennebunkport and Ogunquit sell to summer families. Keep the water as its own layer and let the coastline carry the piece.
Portland is the city sale. The peninsula with the islands of Casco Bay beyond it makes a strong city street map.
Harbors have their own buyers: fishing families, boat owners and summer sailors. A harbor map with the moorings and channels as water, and the town wharf at the center, reads like a chart. Add the boat's name in the frame band. Inland, the ski crowds at Sunday River and Sugarloaf want their mountain.
Making a laser cut Maine ornament
Maine's outline is tall, with a jagged coast running up the southeast side and the long northern border with Canada. At 4 in, the coast reads as texture rather than detail, which is fine. Inside, use I-95 up through Portland, Augusta and Bangor, and the biggest lakes as cut water: Moosehead in the middle is the one people recognize. A heart on camp or the hometown.
The outline is simplified and traces the mainland, so most islands are not in it. In our check Mount Desert Island, home of Bar Harbor, fell inside, but smaller islands like Vinalhaven did not. Check the outline in the Studio for any island town.
A dark green backer behind birch reads like Maine woods. A navy backer reads like the harbor.
Questions makers ask
Can I map our family camp on a Maine lake?
Yes. Search the lake, zoom in to the cove and put a heart on the camp. A tight crop of one cove reads better than the whole lake.
Are Maine's islands inside the state outline?
Some are, most are not. The outline is simplified and traces the mainland. Check in the Studio, and use a round frame for island towns.
What makes a Maine ornament look right?
Let the jagged coast be the detail, keep roads to I-95, and cut Moosehead Lake as a water piece. Add a heart on camp.
