Know this before you design: the Studio's Hawaii state frame traces the Big Island only, because the outline is the state's largest single landmass. That is great for a Big Island ornament and wrong for everyone else. Check the outline in the Studio, then choose.
For Oahu, Maui or Kauai, use a circle, square or bauble frame centered on the island, with the ocean as its own layer. Islands are close to round, so a circle frame wastes very little space. Keep the coastline as the main cut and engrave the roads.
For a buyer who wants the whole chain, use a wide rectangle and zoom out until the main islands fit. At ornament size the smaller islands turn into specks, so this works better as a wall piece than a 4 in ornament.
Think about shipping and suitcases. A lot of Hawaii buyers are on vacation when they find you, so small pieces like ornaments and coasters travel well, and larger pieces need to ship to the mainland.
