Stencil fonts

Stencil fonts for cutting and painting

A stencil font has bridges: small gaps that keep the middle of O, A and R attached when you cut it out. We checked every font for real bridges, not just the word stencil in its name.

Stencil fonts with real bridges

Letters like O, B and R break into bridged pieces while the stems stay solid.

Bench tips

  • Check the bridges are wide enough for your material. Thin bridges snap on paper and burn through on thin plywood.
  • For painting, use a stiff stencil material and dab paint rather than brushing across the edges.

Questions

What font is good for stencils?

One with real bridges, so the centers of letters stay attached. Every font above was checked for that.

Can I make any font into a stencil?

You can add bridges by hand in your design software, but a real stencil font has them designed in, sized and placed for you.

Not quite it? Search all of them.
