Fit more on
every sheet.

NestSmith packs your parts by their real outline, not the box around them — so curves tuck into curves and you cut the same job out of less material. Drop in the files you already have and it lays out the sheet in seconds.

Full engine, unlimited nests, no card required.

The sheet costs more than the time.

Material is the bill

Blanks, plywood, acrylic, leather — the sheet costs more than the time on most jobs, and every square inch you do not cut is money you already spent.

Arranging by hand takes longer than cutting

Dragging forty parts around a sheet in LightBurn, eyeballing the gaps, then finding it does not quite fit and starting again.

Most nesting packs the box, not the shape

Tools that nest by bounding box leave a rectangle of air around every curve. On round or L-shaped parts that is most of your sheet.

A tighter nest is not a nicer layout. It is one less sheet on the invoice.

Files in, sheet out, three steps.

01

Drop the files in

SVG, LightBurn, xTool, Illustrator or PDF. Groups stay together, and anything on an engrave layer rides inside its part.

02

Set the material

Pick your sheet from the presets or type the size. Set the gap you want between cuts.

03

Nest and export

Watch it pack, stop when you are happy, and download native LightBurn, xTool, SVG or DXF.

Built for the way a sheet actually gets cut.

Nests the real outline

It packs the actual contour of every part, so pieces tuck into each other’s curves and concavities instead of sitting in invisible boxes.

Cut and engrave stay together

Artwork is attached to the piece that encloses it and travels with it through nesting, rotation and export. It cannot drift off its cut line.

Reads what you already have

LightBurn .lbrn2 and .lbrn, xTool .xcs and .xs, Illustrator .ai, PDF and SVG — converted on the way in so grouping behaves the same whatever it started as.

Writes what your machine wants

Native LightBurn and xTool projects, plus SVG and DXF. Engraving is written before cuts, and the sheet outline is never included.

Move anything by hand

Drag, nudge, free-rotate, pin a part so the next run leaves it alone, or shift-click several and group them into one shape. All of it undoable.

A gap you actually choose

Set the safety margin between cuts down to a tenth of a millimetre, so neighbours do not scorch and parts survive being popped out.

Where it pays for itself.

Hat patches and badges

Dozens of small shapes with engraved detail inside a cut outline. The exact case where bounding-box nesting wastes half a sheet and true-shape does not.

Ornaments and signage

Rounds, stars and script shapes that interlock beautifully once something is allowed to rotate them and tuck them together.

Production runs

One design, a hundred of them, across as many sheets as it takes — with the cost of each sheet and the waste on it reported when it finishes.

The engine is the same on free and paid.

Pro never produces a better nest. It handles the job around the job — more sheets, what it cost, and where your work lives.

The job around the job

  • Multi-sheet
When a job outgrows one sheet, it fills the first, then nests what is left onto the next, and keeps going until everything is placed.
  • Material costing
Put a price on your stock and every run reports what it consumed, the waste, what it cost and what the offcut was worth.
  • Saved projects
Layouts kept on your account, open on any machine you sign in on.
  • Job history
Sheets, waste and spend over time, so you can see where material is going.
  • Offcuts
Keep the unused tail of a sheet as material in its own right and nest into it later.

Questions.

Is the free version limited?

No. Free gives you the whole nesting engine at full speed — no time caps, no watermarks, no reduced quality. Pro adds the work around the job: multi-sheet, costing, saved projects, history and offcuts. Pro never produces a better nest.

Will it open my LightBurn files?

Yes — .lbrn2 and .lbrn, with cut settings mapped to cut versus engrave. It writes native LightBurn back out too.

Does my artwork get uploaded?

No. Nesting runs entirely in your browser. Files only leave your machine if you choose to save a project to your account.

My Illustrator file comes in as loose shapes.

Illustrator keeps groups in its own private data, which never reaches the PDF inside an .ai file — no other program can read them. Export an SVG from Illustrator for the best result, or group the pieces on the sheet yourself.
